There is nothing like the attraction of watching things as they happen – it plays into our obsession with voyeurism and why we just cannot turn away from watching a train wreck (or reality TV which is pretty much the same thing)!

This article entitled Advertisers Could Push Live Streaming Into Its Golden Age from Regina Sinsky at VentureBeat explains how Internet streaming and live broadcasting are catching the attention of advertisers.  There is no other medium providing the high level of interactivity and immediacy than that of live streaming and broadcasting. No longer is it just “live on the red carpet events with huge budgets that can broadcast live – with tools like comF5’s LiveF5 – anyone can set up a webcast and broadcast it live.

For theaters or festivals – think about doing a live broadcast to announce your season – or the winners of your festival entries.  Of course you can set up a live broadcast for opening night and the gala afterward – and if you are a theater like La Mirada – they use their opening night galas as an opportunity for their young performers to present dance acts for the patrons!  Just think – if grandma and grandpa, or the uncles and aunts can’t actually attend – they can tune in to the live broadcast as if they were there!

For producers – if you’re holding a backer’s audition or reading of a new work – broadcast it live for those investors who are out of town and can’t make it.  LiveF5 also allows for password protection of your broadcast so only those you want to see the broadcast will have access.

For photographers – just think of what you can do with weddings!  When my wife and I got married (very recently, I might add!) we did a live Internet broadcast so that our family members that could not come in for the ceremony could still see it LIVE!  It was a blast.

For Bands or Perfomers – why not set up a LIVE broadcast to boost your following?
