Theatre Marketing

SocialPunchMarketing has a true passion for theater marketing.  Our founder, Nick Cavarra, performed on Broadway (Grease!, The Scarlet Pimpernel and King David) and produced multiple award winning shows off- Broadway (Richard Cory, Fanny Hill). His experience working in theaters – large and small – as well as raising money for new works and marketing productions gives him a unique perspective for what needs to be accomplished with what is very often shoestring budgets.

Social media and the Internet have revolutionized the entertainment industry and the old advertising methods of taking out big, flashy (and expensive!) ads in the calendar sections of newspapers no longer works.  The highest performing marketing strategy today for theaters is email.  Going direct to your subscribers and past attendees with a well designed email blast along with a discounted price offer will provide the largest return on investment for your precious marketing dollars.  Combine that email with a text messaging campaign during your curtain speech and watch your database grow as you increase sales and drive repeat business.

We understand that marketing budgets are tight and your theater may have more volunteers and staff time than actual dollars. That is why we offer training plans focused on coaching your marketing departments on utilizing the latest social marketing tools to be effective.  We design and prepare initial email templates, websites, fan pages and social networking channels and then implement the strategies and training necessary so your staff can confidently assume responsibility to execute all campaign tasks to reach your goals. We custom design all marketing plans around the unique capabilities and staff availability for each of our theater clients.

The tools for social media campaigns may be free or very low cost, but the human capital required to run social marketing campaigns is labor intensive.  There is no point in trying to be on all channels and networks only to lack the man hours necessary to monitor and effectively engage on all those channels.  We focus on picking the best channel for your theater – be it a monthly email newsletter, a Facebook fan page or a YouTube channel – then executing it flawlessly before expanding onto the next channel.  Contact us to see how we can help your theater grow your audience.
